  • After 103 goals in 185 appearances, the 92/93 season would be the last on Dutch soil for Dennis Bergkamp. His performances in the Euro 1992 and his two consecutive Dutch Player of the Year awards attracted the attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe- and eventually opted for Inter Milan who played in the “biggest league at the time” according to his own statement.
  • The biggest transfer deals this season was Alan Shearer’s €3.6Million fee paid by Blackburn in England, while Gianluca Vialli and Gianluigi Lentini represented the only transfer deals over €10Million in Europe.
